On this CD, a series of rare prayers requesting Amitabha to transfer the consciousness of those who have died to his pure land, Dewachan, are sung by nuns living high in the Himalayan Mountains--associated with Kopan Monastery. If a dying person attains Dewachan--it is said--the conditions for enlightenment are perfect and one is never reborn into the lower realms of cyclic existence.
