White Tara embodies compassion in its healing, life-extending form. She is depicted with a radiant white body, clear as the autumn moon, seated in full meditation posture with both legs crossed. On her forehead, palms and soles she bears seven eyes, with which she perceives the suffering of all beings in every direction.
Reciting and meditating on the mantra of White Tara is traditionally held to support the healing of body and mind, and helps to strengthen inner peace and vitality. Her mantra is: OM TARE TUTTARE TURE MAMA AYUR PUNYE GYANA PUSHTIM KURUYE SVAHA.
