The phurba is also called the demon dagger. A phurba is a ritual instrument that is mainly used by Nepalese shamans and Tibetan Buddhists.
A phurba is a very powerful tool to put negative energies or demons in their place, to drive them into the lower realms or to nail them down so that there is no more escape for them. The trinity of the dagger, which come together at the point, represent the three poisons greed, hatred and delusion. These are transformed by thrusting the dagger.
A phurba should always be blessed and attuned to before use. So it can serve well in its use. In order to condemn negative energies or demons into the lower astral world, one pushes the Phurba powerfully into the earth. If rooms are cleaned, you can also use a bowl with rice, grain or earth.
