Khenpo Tsultrim explains the clear light nature of mind in connection with buddha nature, and teaches on four songs of Jetsun Milarepa.
In the first half of this book Khenpo gives a clear explanation of the clear light nature of mind in connection with the buddha nature inherent in all beings. He also explains how to meditate on the clear light, how to develop compassion, the practice of tonglen and some very poignant advice on taking adverse conditions to the path.
In the second half Khenpo gives teachings on four songs sung by the Lord of yogis Jetsun Milarepa. He explains the meaning of Milarepa’s own expression of the view, meditation, conduct and fruition, and gives us advice on how to apply the teachings to all aspects of our practice and life.
“Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso is one of the principal teachers of the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. As a very learned teacher and also a great meditator, he is very skilled in presenting views on emptiness and also explaining the great songs of realization of Jetsun Milarepa.” From the foreword by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche "Rinpoche encourages students and practitioners to study and reflect on these songs and instructions in order to give rise to a correct view which then forms the basis for meditation that leads to the realisation of Mahamudra. Through this method one can develop a very clear and stable realisation and it is my wish that one follows these profound teachings in order to bring all sentient beings to the realisation of Mahamudra so that whatever arises is not separate from genuine compassion.”
